posing question

Postby gwc42 » Mon Oct 17, 2011 1:29 pm

Hi,
I'm not yet very experienced in these things so I'm seeking help.
I have imported a character into blender; what I would like to be able to do is to get the character to a squat position or up on tiptoe, without moving the toes from the floor. I can't seem to find a combination of settings/controls that will allow me to do this. Is it possible? If so, How?
thanks,
/G.

I take it that you want to move the torso down and bend the knees, ankles, etc at the same time?

At one point (several MHX versions back), it was possible to do this by moving the Root bone in the locked Z direction with, I think, the leg FK/IK swith to the right.

Edit: I figured out how to do this in the latest version. On the N panel, change the LegIK drivers for both legs to 1. You will also have to adjust the FootIK and FootRev bones for both legs to keep the knees from going wild.

thanks very much for reply! Yes, that's exactly the sort of thing I want to do. I'll go away and try it out....
