hello all:

This thread offered me a lot of hope in getting MH to work accepting the characters I have created in Blender or the character in the contributed list. The problem does seem to be that I have been using a MacBook Pro (8 GB, .5 TB, Sierra 10.12.5). I have tried most everything mentioned in this forum but cannot get added clothes to show up in the Geometries/Clothes list in the MH interface.

On a Mac you have two sets of folder hierarchies where MH resides - first, in Applications, one finds the MH app and can drill down in the MH packed directory by clicking on "show package contents" (right click MH app). I found that I could drill down to ../Contents/Plugins/ and add add plugins there (such as 9_export_mhx2) This worked fine and the exporting mhx2 files was added to the export menu (nice!).. The other place for MH information is found in Documents/MakeHuman/v1/....). In the sub directory .../data/clothes/ I read that adding a directory that contains files for items of clothes (e.g. from the download for glasses from the library: glasses_library_male.mhclo ... mhmat....obj...thumb and a texture file.) I added the five files in the library description of the glasses and, upon restarting MH, the glasses were NOT added to the Geometries/Clothes list displayed in the interface.

I would be extremely grateful if someone could post the proper workflow for the Mac. I suspect I simply have put things in the in the incorrect directories. However, none of the suggestions that people of suggested work for me.

Thanks for any help anyone can give.

I recently went through the same thing, and I'm on a mac mini. The following makes it semi-auto… sort of.
Look at Output Directory under Show Settings, just under Test Clothes in Blender. There you will see what happens to the clothes you've made. Blender will name the new folder for you and put it in that directory. Now go to that directory, probably Users, and copy or drag it to the applications/Makehuman/contents/resources/data/clothes. Put it in that clothes folder, then open makehuman, and voila!

bourne-free: When you did this, where did it say it put the clothes?
