Can't launch

I downloaded whatever version is on the site right now (I think 1.1.1?)

On OSX it claims my OSX is too old :(

On Windows 7 it claims instead it can't execute the file 0_something_0_something

Have you tried re-downloading we have been having with packet losses from our sever Joel has his ISP looking in to the issue.

Tried with a 1.1.1-beta1 download I found on another thread here...

Same error "failed to execute script 0_modeling_0_modifiers"

We probably can't help with the OS X thing, but could you perhaps provide a log file (http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... _report%3F), so we can see what is going wrong on Windows?

There is no log file I could find.

Logs are the first thing I look for, so I can fix errors myself, I made my original post after I failed to find any of the files mentioned in the faq, I even tried using "Agent Ransack" to look my entire computer for .txt or .log files, but the only .txt files I found related to MakeHuman are various license files, some shader files and 2 files named 'something_api.txt' inside numpy folder.

I currently have no good explanation for the error you get on windows, but it is the second report of the same error message.

A quick question though: Did you use the standard windows zip functionality to unpack the archive, or do you use some other archiver (for example winrar)?

Trying to investigate on this issue. So far I can tell:
I do not use WinRAR, but I unzipped MH1.1.1 with another tool and these settings: "No Pathnames" and "Auto rename". When starting MakeHuman I get the error message from the operating system: "Failed to execute script pyi_rth__tkinter". User folders were not created.
Then, same test with MakeHuman 1.1.0: The application crashes shortly after start up. No system error messages occurred, but at least user folders with log files were created.
Result: When MakeHuman is unzipped with faulty options it crashes either in a very early stage, even before it creates the user folders, which is almost one of MakeHuman's first actions in the start-up process, or it crashes in a later stage, but then one can find some log files.

Looking at the user's bug reports the strange thing is, that MakeHuman does not create any user folders or log files as one of the first steps in the start-up process, but the crash itself occurs when it tries to load plugins, which happens in a very late stage. And the error message is from the system.

On Win 7 the logs (e.g., makehuman.log) will be in:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\makehuman\v1
I suppose it would be useful to know if this directory exists (even if the log files don't exist). Also, where did you install MakeHuman on your Windows machine?

I am having the same problem as "Can't launch" but did not see a resolution to their problem.

I have just downloaded and installed Makehuman 1.1.1 with blender_plugins_for_1.1.1.zip and makehuman_plugins_for_1.1.1.
I used 7zip to "install" the three zip files in my general download directory d:\data\download\makehuman under the makehuman-1.1.1-win32 directory.

I am running Windows 7 Pro
Checked the C:\users\[username]\mydocuments\makehuman\v1 and it is present but has no logfiles listed, just folders and various text and setup files.

NOTE: As the original poster I am receiving the following error when I attempt to start Makehuman 1.1.1: "Failto to execute script pyi_rth_tkinter"

Did you:
* Download the regular MH app and not the portable app?
* Did you try unzipping using the windows extract rather than 7-zip?
