Yes, MakeHuman uses Python, but it has all its dependencies packed in the zip. Installing Python again is unnecessary, unless you want to develop on MakeHUman. Out of curiosity, did you download MakeHuman from our official download link? And did you try this nightly: http://download.tuxfamily.org/makehuman ... -win32.zip ? And would you mind to post the full path to your Documents folder, something like C:\Users\XXXXX\Documents
I'm curious about then content of XXXXX ...

I know, and here is my explanation, why I still was asking: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13964#p37146 .

With uninstalling Python we could exclude the dll-issue, though it was fixed anyway. Obviously no unicode issues and since the system does not show any error messages, like "can't start application", driver issues are not very likely. Though, making sure you are using the latest versions of your graphics driver, wouldn't harm anyway.

There have been reports of incomplete downloads in the past, could you either re-download MakeHuman or use a tool to compare the md5sums: http://download.tuxfamily.org/makehuman ... d5sums.txt. Maybe it's even enough to compare the file sizes.
Make sure unzipping was successful, perhaps post a screenshot of C:\Makehuman. And finally, what about antivirus?

I didn't want to see all you private files, you can delete this. On a quick glance the content of c:\Makehuman seems to be complete. No further ideas... Sorry.
What are the specs of your graphics card and CPU? And is Blender working without problems on your System?

If you don't already use portable apps, the portable app version may be more overhead than you need at this juncture.

We (I) have assumed you are on Windows. Is it Win 7/8/10 or something older? With this type of silent fail, info on OS and graphics card might be helpful. On Windows 10 (and maybe earlier windows) pasting 'Control Panel\System and Security\System' without quotes into File Explorer will provide a quick picture of system information.

Your description of unzipping sounds fine as explained by Aranuvir. Just to be sure, you did extract your .zip file rather than running from inside it?

Others have mentioned, but please double check that all characters in your username and path are pure ASCII (no accented characters for example).

As mentioned by Loki there was long ago there was briefly a problem if Python was installed on Windows systems when you run MH, but this was fixed long ago. In case you have a throwback version of MH, temporarily renaming your python directory to something NOT in your path will let those MakeHuman versions start and will identify this as your problem. However, with the latest versions of MakeHuman and Windows this problem is long gone.

If there is indeed no C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\makehuman\v1 folder, MH crashed VERY early because it creates this folder if its not there, regardless of where the program itself is located/unzipped. The "big guns" for diagnosis in such a case would start with Event Viewer. In the start menu type Event Viewer and see what might get written in the system log files as you attempt to start MH.

Let us know what is happening.

That's the thing, that puzzles me most. Even if there should be any graphics card conflicts, the folder is created in such an early state, that those conflicts shouldn't matter. Just confirmed the behaviour by reintroducing my driver conflict, though taking a look in the source code should have been enough to confirm.

It looks like something is preventing makehuman.exe to execute.

Just one thing I noticed in the screenshots: The user, who is logged in and making the screenshots, does not have access to C:\Users\DELL (see mh5.png, the small padlock). The "...\Documents\makehuman\v1"-folder will always (!) be found in the documents folder of the user currently logged in, i.e. if makehuman.exe is executed by the user "Admininstrator", you will have to dig in "C:\Users\Administrator\Documents".

I think Aranuvir has found an important clue regarding how you logged in. If you logged in as administrator look for MakeHuman.log in "C:\Users\Administrator\Documents" If you logged in as guest, look in "C:\Users\guest\Documents" This file is key to us helping you further.

One other question. I see both a makehuman.exe and a makehuman.exe - shortcut in c:\makehuman Which are you trying to run? What does the "start In" line of the shortcut say if you right click and look at properties?

Well this was not the first time I am experiencing such issue. Which was why I thought that it must be the 64 & 32 bit things of windows.. I install an application that work fine on my friend desktop running window xp professional. When I install same software on my system it behave exactly as makehuman is doing now. My friend say it's 32 bit things , my Laptop is 64 bit.
But now I know it's a different things altogether because some are using make human on 64 bit win 7.
It's something to do with my Laptop ( I think it's old )
I am getting a new laptop soon . :D
