So here we go for the all-girl-band. Evi becomes a bass player ... because in most of my favourite female bands the dark-haired girls always play the bass, I don't know why ... ;)

Maybe I've to do a little bit of fine-tuning still, because for the bass I only had a few pictures.

And for wolgade: I changed the microphone. But I guess the tripod on the floor seems a little too big. Focus is 80mm, so it is not the perspective creating the effect :?

Next will be Dani playing the drums. And a lot of assets on the floor, so hopefully I can make a picture with the hole band within the next 10 days.

Cool. :D

The tripod looks much better. If you need the exact measurements I might be able to help. Of course you will need other additional tripods for your band. This might be helpful: http://produkte.k-m.de/de/Mikrofonstative

Today I tried to adapt a rack drum set (CC-0 by karagez from Blendswap.com), so that Dani is able to use it. It was not that easy because I've to add a lot of handles to connect the cymbals and also I've to group a lot of things, so that the rack could be moved on the stage. Then I've to rescale it by 10 and last not least I changed a few textures. The original was made by a member of the metal band "Solveris" from Germany.

Since I'm to lazy to create clothes for metal or punk style music, I decided for the dreampop / shoegaze style. And therefore I need a bandname, I first thought of oscine birds, but I didn't found a single bird not allready used as a bandname :(

So I looked for an animal which lives in the countries where my models come from and so I found the masked polecat (or steppe polecat). Btw.: Even a band "polecats" (rockabilly) and "polecat" (folk) exists ...

Okay no microphones added in the next picture and Dani is only POSING - or did you ever try to play the bass drum or hi-hat with high heels? I've to create another pair of shoes for her :?
But at least I made a pair of drumsticks.

Here she is:

Its very fun and intresting to see how your band project develop 8-) Perhaps Dani goes wild and break off the high heels and use them for drumsticks? Somewhat shorter than real drumsticks but gives a sharp sound

Just use any of the athletic shoes 8-) that's what quite a few drummers of my acquaintance prefer most do not like any heavy shoe at all as they do use their feet quite a lot that and soles that grips those pedals(one friend had to replace his bass drum skin after a slip).

Enjoy the Choice :)

This will be great when it's finished. BTW: I had some time at work to pick a microphone tripod from the shelf and do some measurement. Perhaps this might be helpful.

Yes, it was, thank you. For the tubes, I had 2cm and 2.5cm diameter, this was not so far away from your values. But I had a "bigfoot" of about 50cm for each foot, so this thing was even usable for stormy weather on the stage

I changed all values now ... So next is to see where I've to place microphones for a drumset, then build some equipment for the guitarists and of course a pair of suitable shoes for Dani (sharp sound and going wild in shoegaze and dreampop, I dunno ... metalgaze maybe ).

Yeah it's fun, I made a lot of pictures in my old days of e.g. Babes in Toyland, 7 year Bitch, Shonen Knife etc. so I've seen a lot of all-girl bands playing.

But typically I didn't take photos of the complete stage or what equipment was on the floor. On the other hand, we have enough pictures in the internet. Hopefully my small box is capable to render these things all together.

To give you a general idea I found this image: https://www.session.de/out/pictures/master/product/2/AKG_Drum_Set_Session_I_1.jpg

When I have to record drums for TV I usually use this set: https://www.thomann.de/de/sennheiser_drumset_900.htm
I replace the snare mic with https://www.thomann.de/de/shure_sm57_lc.htm?ref=search_rslt_sm57_105768_0
This type is also suitable for hihat.
For the overheads I use https://www.thomann.de/de/neumann_km184mt_stereoset.htm

I haven't checked the other manufacturers, but for Sennheiser microphones you'll find data sheets including drawings with measurements under http://de-de.sennheiser.com/. Just feed the microphone name into the search field on fheir site.

10 hours of work for a tiny setup of guitar effects pedals. I first thought of Kevin Shields of "My Bloody Valentine" and his setup. But therefore my computer will never be successful

Here it is: http://www.effectsbay.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/kevin-shields-my-bloody-valentine-main-board.jpg

So I've done a more basic setup for this kind of music and of course it is a bit low-poly. The reason is, that it will not be as big as in this picture in the future and I need to save a few vertices ... ;)

For the microphones: I've done the small stand for the bass-drum microphone in between. But there are setups from only one upto twelve microphones for a drumset, I've read somewhere. Typical for a small venue seems to be 4-5 ... I like my girls more be some kind of independent band, so television will not (yet) be there :?

You call this basic? :o Looks like quite a bit of work. Looks also extremely well.

This depends on the drumset and the kind of music. For jazz drums you might get away with two overheads, one microphone for the snare and another one for the bass drum. If we're talking about any kind of rock music, no way. Even bands with a very limited budget end up with eight microphones for a basic drum kit.

BTW: I'm not sure whether this discussion about sound engineering is of general interest for the MH community. Feel free to send me a PM (German) for specific questions.
