New to MakeHuman, just don't know where and how to start

Postby MUSICHIEN » Thu Mar 31, 2016 3:34 pm

Hi everyone, I am totally new to makehuman. I'm a university student and I am going to use makehuman to finish my project.
However, I am also new to Python. Here are my questions:
1, Is there any tutorial documentaion which explains the structure of the source code? I find that the link http://www.makehuman.org/documentation doesn't work any more so I wonder if you guys could help me with this? Thanks! :D

2, My project mainly use makehuman to show some fitting room effects (e.g. given some specific data then show the human body out automatically), is it hard to realize? Considering I am totally new to python and I have just learnd C and C++.

3, I am learning python and the makehuman programme at the sametime, do you have any suggestion about how and where to better start?

4, We have two to work on the study of makehuman, do you have any suggestion of how to well divide the work, and how to study the source codes more efficiently?

I would appreciate it a lot if you could answer my questions! Thanks! :D

Here are two suggestions, if I have read you properly.

If by 'fitting room' you mean to study draping and folding of clothes with Makehuman, I would suggest that you download the trial version of Marvelous Designer (15 day), export a standard Makehuman model, and have one of your team study the draping and folding frame-by-frame. I have a few Marvelous Designer projects pre-built, using the Makehuman 1.1 mesh, with simple clothing (karate gi, nurse's uniform) to start with.

Otherwise, you should divide your work between using the model strictly in Makehuman, and using the rigged model in Blender.

What little documentation there is on the source code is available here: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/api/. You'll probably want to skim through that to begin with.
