Confused w/ posing: BVH --> MH vs. MH --> Blender

Postby pterandon » Thu Jan 07, 2016 1:34 am

Hi, I'm trying out poses on the nightly build. In both directions, I'm stuck.

1) I get a CMU BVH file and try stuffing it in the directory that MakeHuman is using to find poses, and when I select it, I get an error that makes reference to on file selected traceback jenkins directory.
Q: Perhaps I should have known not to try this, but is this just an undeveloped feature, or am I doing it the wrong way or have the wrong kind of BVH?

2) I export to Blender, with a skeleton, but am unable to pose that skeleton in the way I've been able to do so in the past (much earlier version).
Again, perhaps I shouldn't be playing with the nightly build, but is this something I should be able to do?

thanks.

1) The animation plug-in for MH is turned off so no animations within MH yet.
2) Not sure how are you exporting but I have been using the source version( equivalent to nightly-build) for a long time and have no problems so just how are you going about it.

Enjoy the Choice :)

MakeHuman does not swallow CMU BVH's.
It does not retarget.
MH only accepts bvh files that store poses for the "default" skeleton structure.

Retargetting from other BVH files, such as mocap data, will have to be done with blender. If you retarget to the default skeleton, and then export as BVH, you should be able to use them as poses in MH.
