Modeling character after model sheet

Postby zeroecko » Tue Dec 29, 2015 12:21 am

I am having a hard time trying to model a character after a model sheet. I get the sheets in place, but the sliders do not seem to move enough for things like the jawline and stomach. When I get them to a close place, the character looks very fat and weird. Any tips on what to do?

An example of the model sheet I am trying is uploaded. It is one I was using in a Blender Tutorial, but wanted to compare makehuman to the extremely long process in Blender. My blender version looked like an alien, haha, so was hoping for better results.

The anime style custom target should fix the jaw (and give a more exaggerated feminine body shape, if that's what you're after). I think this was suggested in a different topic, but you can also go to the source and re-download the official targets to put in your custom folder so you can apply them a second time (although if you save it wrong, it saves as a text file and makehuman can't open it?)

Since this is relevant to the topic, I'll post what I've been (slowly) working on the past few months. The model sheet, and my most recent test render. Here I used the anime slider but not all the way. It looks decent even though it was meant for female characters, unfortunately the anime-ized body goes outside the carefully fitted clothes. Which is the reason why I'm really hoping a oscalon makes a version of the anime slider that affects only the face. Like you, I also spent a long time refining the face in makehuman but I was never quite satisfied. I started over with a new MH model for this test render when I finally noticed that oscalon posted the anime slider. The clothing was done earlier, in the marvelous designer demo and came from the fearless makers men's three piece suit (and for the sweater, the marvelous designer store).

and just in case anyone wonders, yes this character is male...
