clothes not showing up in MKH

Postby robames72 » Fri Apr 17, 2015 4:16 pm

Hello!
First and foremost, Thank-you for all the hard work and very awesome results! The devs put alot into this free software, you all are amazing!
I am having an issue that I cant figure out...its probably something simple. When I export back into MKH from Blender my files are routed to a different makehuman/v1/data/clothes folder. There is two different file paths that I am seeing ,
1) Users/myname/MakeHuman/v1/data/clothes 2) user/myname/documents/makehuman/v1/data/clothes

I think this is a config field in the makeclothes user interface.
You probably accidentally added a '2' in there.
Check the options of MakeClothes (N panel I believe) or reset all settings to defaults.

I am having the same problem.

Just getting started making clothes in Blender Make Clothes version 0.949. I am working with MakeHuman version 1.0.2 on an iMac.

The exported clothes folder go to the Home Folder User/username/makehuman/v1. When I open MakeHuman they do not appear in the list under Geomtries/Clothes.

How do I get them to appear in the list of Clothing?

I work on a mac with MKH 1.1.0 and have downloaded clothes from the user contribution in this forum. I followed the FAQs how to install them but the clothes don't show up for me either. I've put them both in the user directory and application directory for clothes.

Can you paste a list of the files you downloaded with full path names of how/where you put them?

I've downloaded the following:

to folder user/myname/documents/MakeHuman/v1/data/clothes/celticprincess

celticprincess.mhclo
celticprincess.mhmat
celticprincess.obj
celticprincess.thumb
materials folder > celticprincess.png

and folder user/myname/documents/MakeHuman/v1/data/clothes/nosepiece

nosepierce.mhclo
nosepierce.mhmat
nosepierce.obj
nosepierce.thumb

I also tried putting them into /applications/MakeHuman_nightly_unstable/contents/resources/data/clothes

there I see the standard clothes, but the add ons won't load.

This is all very strange. Now, I'm no expert on mac and have no mac to test on, but the paths look sane to me.

In particular it should work to put the clothes in the installation folder. There's no difference between downloaded clothes and official clothes, they're just a bunch of files found in the same directory.

I'm making a bug report of it and hope someone better fit to understand mac internals can explan it. See http://bugtracker.makehumancommunity.org/issues/968

Odd. Thanks!
Maybe of importance, that when downloaded with Safari it changes the suffix for filename.mhclo to filename.mhclo.txt
But I removed the .txt suffix before putting it into the directory.

Well, if it is named .txt, it will obviously not show up. Maybe take an extra look, preferably via the console?

Also, check the contents of the file to make sure it didn't get distorted during download.

These commands are suggested for console (based on experience from linux, not sure they work for mac)

Code: Select all
ls -l /User/myname/documents/MakeHuman/v1/data/clothes/celticprincess
cat /User/myname/documents/MakeHuman/v1/data/clothes/celticprincess/celticprincess.mhclo
