Importing MHX deletes other random meshes

Hi,
I've been trying to write a batch script to load characters I prepared from a directory and render them in certain environments.

I noticed that using the mhx importer in blender deletes *some* of the meshes that already exist in the scene. I can't find a pattern or a rule on how and why this takes place.

It happened in all rigged (basic rig), textured characters that I created, so any one of yours will probably reproduce the same results.

Can someone try to reproduce the error using these files?
Basically the import function deletes the side walls completely and I have no idea why.

It does not delete meshes, it just changes what object layers are visible and which aren't.
The MHX importer has a tendency to do a lot of things, that you perhaps did not expect or intend. If you can't live with this, perhaps try exporting to collada and use blender's DAE importer. It's less feature-rich, but it behaves like a standard blender importer.

That was exactly the case, thank you. Any ideas on how to disable that?

For now I just commented the hideLayers line in the import function that comes with Blender but that's not a clean way of handling this. If you have a better way, I'd like to hear that too!

Unfortunately collada import doesn't work for me because I need to import the object with armature and textures...
