Model size in blender

Postby kenyb » Wed Feb 05, 2014 4:18 pm

I'm currently new to make human and blender. When I make a model in Make Human and export it to blender my model comes out HUGE. I have Blender set to the imperial measurement system, and when I export I use the inches option in Make Human. But my model goes from 5'8 in Make Human to 220' tall in Blender. In order to get my model scaled right, I have to scale it down to .027 in the x,y,z axis. A little help please...

Not sure this will help or not. I use metric when working with Blender in general. Not my native measurement system since, like the majority of Americans, think in Imperial measurements. On my Linux machine I have "units" running all the time to do conversions for me.

If you use metric, export in Decimeters and everything will line up.

I tried this and my model came out 17m 57' tall. Thanks, I tried...

Check your scale in Blender.

I just started with Blender in July 2013 and had the same sort of learning curve issues. Keep working at it... one day it will all click.

Indeed, you need to configure your units correctly in Blender, as shown in the screenshot.

okay I tried it and scaled it down to 0.10 and it came out correct. even in imperial it worked, so I was scaling wrong. Thanks Salty and Dusty....
