Patient demographic characteristics and facial expressions influence nurses' assessment of mood in the context of pain: a virtual human and lens model investigation.
The 2011 research focuses on training nurses to become more aware of patients emtional states by a careful reading of their facial expressions.
The researchers create Virtual Human characters of various demographics, using the (old Windows 98) program People Putty.

They matched this program's output to the Ekman Facial Action Coding System! (emphasis is mine).

Unless I am seriously mistaken, this software package does not even come close to the power and versatility of Makehuman, especially the upcoming Alpha 8.

To this end, I am going to construct a skinless Virtual Patient, so that the mapping to the standard Makehuman mesh can be calculated.
