1.8 Stable Release Date?

Is there a target date for the next stable MH build (1.8 Alpha?) is going to be released? Searching through the blog and forums, I couldn't find any target dates or estimates. (But if there is already a thread dedicated to the release dates, I won't be angry if you delete this.)

In particular, I'm looking forward to the all-Python version of MH as I hope that it will make the program run faster and smoother than 1.7, which has an aggravating lag time (up to several seconds at many points) between user commands and seeing the results. The other main thing I'm looking forward to is the new base mesh, which is apparently pretty awesome from what I can gather here. Anyway, thanks and God bless!
