Acupuncture map...

Postby Gnarlodious » Wed Jan 02, 2013 5:04 am

What I want is an application to have a body map with a layer where I can make notes and write on the "skin". Like for example to make an acupuncture chart. Is this doable with your software?

You should be able to do this with UV paint in blender.

Make an MHX export from makehuman, import it into blender and go to uv painting mode by the drop-down in the head of the window. There you should be able to paint directly on the mesh.

Thanks, I don't know what any of those words mean but I'll figure it out. About the "mesh", is it a canonical coordinate system of the human surface or am I stuck with drawing reference points?

The "base mesh" when references by MH is the 3d model defining the human. It consists of some 18000 coordinates which in their turn define surfaces.

In blender you can basically paint anywhere on the 3d model. The result end up on the skin texture looking like this: http://www.makehuman.org/sites/mhnew.jw ... exture.png

Note though that if you don't like the way the skin has been "unwrapped" here (ie where the seams were when it got flattened to a 2d imag) blender allows you to draw seams and make another unwrap.

You could use the texture painting option in blender to paint on your model in 3D, then save out the new texture and put it in your makehuman skins folder.
