Alpha 8 RC - very nice, thanks to all.

I just downloaded and played around with the latest.
Exported to fbx, and imported it into Modo.
The basic rig came in functional and well-weighted? Yes! I was able to pose immediately.

I can't believe it was that easy. I don't want to get to excited, but I think I can almost start a walk cycle within a minute of importing.
This is a huge improvement - and I appreciate the hard work.

A vote of thanks to the developers!

Nice to hear. Especially since none of the devs is a modo user, I think.

And who would have thought that the Alpha 8 Collada export is more reliable than Poser or DAZ for working flawlessly in Marvelous Designer 3?
Actually, that's a bit unfair, because the DAZ proprietary Collada doesn't import at all into MD3. No doubt about it; Makehuman with its superior measurement system is poised to take on all the other human character creation software out there. Now MH needs a few fashion designers to come on board. ;)

Great to hear that it works so well :)
Supporting many different target tools is always a challenge.

Here's a link to a screenshot of Lekala's online 3d body generation:

How could MakeHuman be used to implement something like this?

Yes. It's still not perfect for our high standards, but it's usable. Take a look here, in the "Measure" section.

This file doesn't load measure data, it was saved from version 1.0 Alpha 8 rc

Any suggestions, or should I file an issue?

The file I listed was run in command line mode from the directory with the mhm file :

makehuman NeckHeightNeckCircum.mhm

It contains measurement data for neck height and circumference, probably because you touched those sliders before saving.
Contents of your file:
Code: Select all
measure neckheight 1.000000
measure neckcirc 1.000000

But as already mentioned, it's values between 0 and 1.

Duststorm, either the file isn't opening from the command line with

makehuman NeckHeightNeckCircum.mhm

or it's opening the file but not adjusting the measure data

I can load it after MakeHuman opens & I select Files/Load.

When I changed weight to 1.0 & gender to 1.0 from the GUI then save it,
then tried to open the file from the command line,
MakeHuman still opens with the default character.

Do I have the command line wrong? Is there an option flag like this:
makehuman --file=NeckHeightNeckCircum.mhm
