I hope I'm not inconvenient asking this, but, are there some news?
I know there is a lack of artists and if I was any good at modelling Anime characters I would step up to help, but I'm not...
Even if not much is finished, would it be possible to share what is already done (even if awfully incomplete). In http://makehuman.blogspot.com/2009/12/a ... -tool.html there seems to be good progress...

Unfortunately the manga tool was stopped due the lack of artists, as you know.
The few characters showed in the blog was developed using the old mesh, so they need to be converted in order to work with new topology...

My idea is to start a new recruitment campaign soon (we are working on a new, better site, with some tools to organize the work and share the results). What we need...is the community support.

I'd love to volunteer to help move this area along.
While i'm no great artist I do have both a passion for open source and manga.
I'm quite handy in 3dsMax Rhino3d, blender and python and don't mind crunching hours converting old models to the new base mesh.

I created a base anime mesh for the old makeHuman (using an old blender plugin) which worked quite well but it does not appear that anything similar currently exsists for this new mesh.

Let me know if I can be of service.
