Just for today there are 54 registrations waiting for activation or deletion. Most likely all spammers. It will cost me a lot of time to check them all manually, I'd rather write some code instead.

Seems there's a phpBB plugin. I have no idea how well it works, but the forum posts seemed pretty enthusiastic.
