One of the annoying deficiencies of Daz Studio is that is lacks a humanoid skeleton you can use to quickly rig a figure. But it does have a great transfer utility that lets you transfer the rigging from one mesh to another. The problem is Daz forbids using their figures for that purpose and you're only allowed to use the transfer utility on their figures to make clothes.
I was able to use the MakeHuman figure to create a skeleton for rigging any figure in Daz and made released the rig with no usage restrictions. http://www.sharecg.com/v/85072/view/21/ ... Rig-A-Tony
Basically what you do if you have a figure you need to rig is take the Rig A Tony figure that works best (A-Pose or T-Pose) then pose and scale the figure so it best matches the figure you want to rig. None of the bone selection groups are joined to you can reposition them literally anywhere and the bone will follow. Once you have the body parts in place in the Joint Editor bake the joints and then run the transfer utility. The skeleton, selection groups and basic weights will be transferred to your figure. You will still need to tweak the weight maps to clean them up since the transferred weights will be pretty brutal, and you might even want to clean up the bone selection groups a bit, but most of the tedious work of building a new rig will have been taken care of (building a skeleton from scratch).
Yet another use I've been able to use MakeHuman for.
