MakeHuman Archive contribution

Postby padone » Tue Dec 23, 2014 9:38 am

it would be nice to add more informations to the MH Archive
for example: python version, Blender version compatibility, unimesh version used (HM01-07)

here are what I consider MH milestones
the infos below may be wrong since I'm not a MH expert, but they are as best as I can understand from what I found around in the web
please let me know if there are errors, I'll be happy to get correct infos

1.80b 2002
HM01 mesh by Enrico Valenza
python script, designed for blender 2.3 + python, works fine in blender 2.4
copy the py modules as described in the install readme
load the blender file and run the python script

2.0a 2005
HM03 mesh by Enrico Valenza
python script, designed for blender 2.3 + python, works fine in blender 2.4
load the blender file

0.9.1rc1a 2007
HM04 mesh by Gianluca Miragoli
standalone exe, designed for blender 2.4
install vc++ redist first

1.0a3b 2009
HM05 mesh by Gianluca Miragoli
standalone exe, designed for blender 2.4

1.0a7 2012
HM06 mesh by Gianluca Miragoli
standalone exe, designed for blender 2.5-2.6

1.0.2 2014
HM07 mesh
standalone exe, designed for blender 2.6-2.7

since I don't see them in the archive, I uploaded the original 1.80b and 2.0a versions if anyone misses them
I had to split 2.0 because the forum has a 2Mb limit for uploads

bye :D

That's very nice. I'll see what I can do about amending the archive page.

Out of curiosity, was the name "MakeHuman" for the blender plugin scripts too? I was aware that they existed, but had never had access to them before.

The 180b rar seems to be a modified version from 2008 though.

yes it is, the uploaded 1.80a version is slightly modified by Brendon Murphy for better blender 2.4 compatibility and better speed via Psyco (optional)
since this was a python script, at the time the main issue was speed (see inside the source)

also yes, the name of the blender script was always MakeHuman

#Modifiy by brendon Murphy (Meta-Androcto)
#Add Header to register script in Wizards. 02/15/2008
#Add & modify info text. 02/16/2008
#Add some license innformation. 02/16/2008
#Add Python Psyco Module for speed up. 02/16/2008 (optional/Experimental)
#Extracted modules into .py files.02/16/2008
