Totally Noob Act

Postby DavidBrennan » Thu Apr 04, 2013 11:39 pm

MakeCow, coming soon!

I have absolute newbie cred because I actually fell for this, and had to double-check even AFTER checking the date on it.

It gave me a good giggle, though, when I finally accepted that it was an April Fool's Day gag.

I didn't see that until today but even before checking the posted date I could tell it was a joke. It was too specific (just focusing on cows) and it's not likely a project like that would be taken on while MH is still largely incomplete.

That being said, it has me lamenting the fact that there is no MH like software for animals. Can't animate the shaggy dog stories and amusing anecdotes my late uncle use to tell without farm animals, as he was an old farmer and most of his shaggy dog stories were about farmers while his anecdotes were things that livestock did to him (a cow running off with his hat, a chicken roosting on his shoulder (very unusual behavior for a chicken), etc.).

Someone really needs to make a Makeanimal or something like that. I'd take it on since I have a bit of programming knowledge but since I need a program like that it's obvious that I wouldn't be able to create the base meshes.

I saw it April first, laughed out loud and did say it was an April Fool's joke. (Make Cow? Oh come on!! LOL!). I also blogged a MakeAnimal utility would be a great idea as well in the same blog. Maybe great minds think alike?
