Trouble with Makehuman on Mac

Postby mikedeathstar » Tue Apr 25, 2017 4:16 am

I have used MakeHuman before, with an older version on my old Mac Mini back in the day, but never did more than experiment with it. I just downloaded the new version on my modern Mac running El Capitan. I have downloaded numerous extensions/add-ons like user-made models, hair, poses and other assets, but the ONLY thing that has worked so far is the MHX2 exporter for Blender.

Here's an example of the problem: I downloaded the "Elven Girl" model and placed the files in the very same folder as the model I created. When I boot up Makehuman, it only recognizes the model I created and not the one I added. There doesn't seem to be an option to browse for files either.

I have looked around for help with the Mac version but have come up dry. My question is: Are assets made in Windows only compatible with the Windows version of Makehuman?

Usually it's a problem with the file extensions by the internet browser used to download the data. Use the search tool of the forum. The problem has been answered multiple times.

Yes I figured that, when they first downloaded they all had a .txt extension, which I removed by renaming the files. This has not helped at all.

Are you comfortable using a shell prompt? Can you use the command "ls" to provide a list of the directory containing the models?

(if you have not used the terminal before, here is an introduction which covers the ls command: http://www.imore.com/how-use-terminal-m ... here-start)
