Wondering why I can't see use my clothes in MakeHuman

Postby trueedge2097 » Sun Sep 25, 2016 3:32 am

Hi

So I'm using MakeClothes in Blender, and I have successfully made some clothing already. I finally got another piece made, went through the Make Clothes command, no error messages. I go to MakeHuman to see it, and it won't recognize it.

I'm getting an error message about not being able to load a npz file. Looking at the folders, I can tell that all of my other clothes have an npz file, but this new piece doesn't.

I can't figure out why. Have I forgotten a step somewhere? It's even the same file I used to make the other ones. And all the other files are in the new folder (the mhco and the mhmat).

What did I do wrong or forget? I really want to make this work. The file is available should you need to see it. The tutu I am trying to make is the one currently on the model. The previous tutu is off to the side.

That's not the problem as the npz file is actually created the first time an asset is loaded.I would prefer to see the makehuman log file to see what else it was objecting too :?: In the mean time I will have a look at the blend file you posted and see if I can get it working for me ;)

Had a chance to run your blend file a the makeclothes script tried to load it in MH and got the following errors the mesh you created is off for some reason
Code: Select all
[2016-09-25 00:28:02,761] log.py->debug():112 -- DEBUG -- Loading ASCII mesh /home/denis/makehuman/v1/data/clothes/bgtutu/bgtutu.obj.
[2016-09-25 00:28:02,791] log.py->error():126 -- ERROR -- Failed to index faces of mesh bgtutu.obj, you are probably loading a mesh with mixed nb of verts per face (do not mix tris and quads). Or your mesh has too many faces attached to one vertex (the maximum is 5-poles). In the second case, either increase MAX_FACES for this mesh, or improve the mesh topology. Original error message: (<type 'exceptions.ValueError'>) could not broadcast input array from shape (6) into shape (5)

I was able to take a closer look at the mesh, and I found the problem. It's those sleeve wings I designed. They are attached to the main tutu forming a 5-pole vertex connection. It was just too much for MH.

On the last tutu, I came outward from the neck piece. That made a lot more sense. I think I can still get the design I want out of this and put it together in a way that MH won't give me fits.

So thanks. Now that I was able to see that message, I could look for where the problem was. Now I know, and knowing was half the battle here. I got it to work in MH now.
