High-res modeling?

Postby sedfsgdgd » Wed Aug 10, 2016 2:19 am

Hi, I'm new to makehuman though i have some experience with 3d modeling software (Iclone 6 more specifically). The thing is that i prefere makehuman: it's free and allows more customization. But i found it difficult to work with the predetermined textureless figurr (aka the red dude). I know that you can change the skin texture and i did it, but it doesnt improves that much. It still seems low-res though of a different color. Now if i entet the edit texture menu i can see the figure as i guess it supposes to be: high-res with ilumination and stuff. But as soon as i exit this menu and start modeling, my fcharacter goes back to tits default low res mode. My question is: is there any way to do proper modeling while seing how the final figure will look (high-res)? I'll find that way much easy to work. Thanks for reading :)

Are you actually selecting that skin. And set smoothing from the icon on the top row. What do you mean by hi-res as in how many polygons per base mesh if you what very hi-res you have to use makehuman as the first tool in your workflow subdividing as necessary in that external modeling app after you have exported it.Makehuman was never intended to be a stand a lone app but as a starting point. For that external app most us use blender as it free and we have developed a few add-ons for to work on makehuman models.

Enjoy the Choice :)

My problem is that when i modelate the figure looks like this, even though i have selected a skin and smooth it. https://gyazo.com/5b3dad84319dcd4dbec339123cc74dbf
Does that mean I have a problem with my graphic card?

Yes, that looks like this one: http://www.makehumancommunity.org/wiki/ ... help_me%3F

Luckily there's a workaround, which you can find in the linked page.
