Can I upload my Language.json?

Postby seraphlai » Sun Mar 06, 2016 3:33 pm

Hi there, another Newbie here,

Now I am eager to edit the text of Makehuman in my Language,

since some of them are rather uncertain,

It is not correct to refer "Measure" to "測量", since the later one is a verb while "Measure" here is a Noun.

and mismatched, maybe some slack left over and no user ever notice that.

By the way, Some user are concerned about the dilemma of Traditional/Simplified Chinese,

It won't be a problem if there is an option to choose.

So, if I've completed modifying with "Traditional Chinese. json", where do I upload and inform?

Theoretically we handle the translations via Transifex, see https://www.transifex.com/makehuman/makehuman/

You could apply to open a separate version of chinese or join one of the existing chinese teams there.

Unfortunately the transifex stuff is in a sad state of neglect for various reasons, so it might be more efficient to make a pull request on bitbucket. Or simply attach a zip with the json file here.

Thanx for the info,

I've tried to edit the .json and restart the program, but it failed to read it.

guess it should be done after adapted in the new build came up.

It's probably easier to work via transifex. If the file failed to read, my guess is you broke the json syntax (forgot a comma, added a " too many, or something in that order), rather than the contents having anything to do with it.

You could try to run a JSON validator on your file to see if it finds any problem.

Looks better now.

Whenever the reference of texts is updated, I would localize it at once.
