Super Newbie question: how to open blender on mac

Postby schmerls » Sun Mar 16, 2014 3:52 am

I downloaded the blender program as well as the stable (non-nightly) version of makehuman, and I cannot figure out how to open blender. Whenever I try, it opens automatically with the wine program and opens with a completely different application. I don't know how to open it by itself or what I should do to use blender at all.

Not directly related to MakeHuman, but here goes:
The fact that you say "Wine" makes me assume you use some form of Linux as operating system.
The fact that it opens Wine "automatically" makes me assume that you have clicked on a .exe file (which filetype is probably associated with wine).

The solution is to download Blender for linux, not blender for windows.
Go to http://www.blender.org/download/#linux and click "GNU/Linux" (it should look green), then download a 32 or 64 bit package.
