That's great.

Just out of curiosity is python linking to python2 or python3 on your system? Running the makehuman-script may fail on systems where python is linking to python3.

My default is Python2, I am just beginning to pick up Python3.

Have a truckload of questions (how to pose the human, why all my renders look black/white in the view mode even with selected skin and lights)... but these will become clear after reading the manual, ... I guess.

Posing can be done in the Pose/Animate tab these are fixed poses there is also an expression selection tab as part of that tab again not all expressions other poses need to be created in an other 3D modeling app most of us use blender as it's free if you still running Mh on your laptop your renders within MH may not work right that Intel internal graphics chip does not have very good drivers on Linux I had to look around a bit for the Intel drivers for my laptop as the distro supplied ones suck Intel's fault I gather they haven't updated them in years focusing on Windows directX not OpenGL there is a FOSS group that have taken up the challenge do not know if they have SUSE rpms though getting one for my MInt install was just adding a PPA to my software sources list.

Enjoy the Choice :)

Holy Moly! :o

I wasn't expecting this forum to take off while I was away doing the Christmas festivities. I'll read up on it but the problem is that I am on OpenSuse and know next to nothing about what I'm doing. Also, I somehow have 2 versions of MH on here and don't know how to remove them and get the one version that is up to date.

EDIT:

Okay, up to date now but still don't know what to do. LOL I have MakeHuman 1.0.2 and 1.1.0 (r1260)

1.1.0 Gives me more options such as hair and clothes and my expressions and pose folders are there but MH seems to ignore them. Here is what the post screen looks like:

That's funny since the latest revision number on the window title should be r1968 so you are missing about 700 updates to the source code so which link did you use to download it should have been https://bitbucket.org/MakeHuman/makehum ... efault.zip if that is the link you used are you starting the program from the menu as opposed to double-clicking on the makehuman.sh in the folder that you extracted the zip file to the zip file does not edit your menu automatically as zypper does,Linux assumes that you do know what you are doing  and does not hold your hand, leaves that to us to do 8-)

Okay, as I said, I have two versions but only need one. So I think I need to start fresh. And yeah, all I did was zypper in makehuman. A friend of mine, installed it initially a couple of years ago and set it up from his repo but I haven't talked to him in quite some time. So I don't know if he's still maintaining it or not...but it doesn't look like it.

So how do I remove both versions and the associated reop's to start over? I'm sure I can't just delete the folders...

Hi there,

you can remove packages (and after you did that remove the repos as well) in yast.

Haven't been using MakeHuman since x-mas, had to get used to Blender first... installing the default source right now, but a repo to keep me up to date would be fine :)
