Need shoes

Postby synok » Fri Aug 26, 2011 12:52 pm

I need shoes for a character. Help me. Deforming characters feet wont do. Also, how do I link shoes to an armatured character to follow when I animate him? Stay on feet in other words.

I'm sorry, but we have not support for clothes yet.
We are looking for a way to find more resources (artists, in this case).

Best,

You might consider modeling shoes for your MH character in Blender.

There are are a number of tutorials floating around Youtube which demonstrate how to make a simple slip-on type boot.

Making other types of shoes, lace-up Nikes for instance, should only be a matter of some work to adapt such a base.

Clothes can be included in mhx export to Blender. The actual clothes that come with MH are really only placeholders which I hacked in a couple of hours; they should eventually be replaced by something serious made by a real artist. However, the technology for fitting clothes and hair does not work for shoes. High heels are especially problematic, for two reasons: 1) The heel does not deform with the foot. 2) High heels change the rest pose; makes the character stand more on her toes.

Better to make your own shoes in your 3D package, or download a model from the net and scale it to fit.
