Human without tongue

Postby mikolaskova » Wed Dec 22, 2010 3:38 pm

Hello,

is there a possibility, to export only some parts of the human body to blender?

F.e. I need only the head and I don't need the tongue and teath. I can easily cut away the body, but it is quite a lot of work to delete the tongue and teeth... so I would like to either exclude them from export or to export them as a mesh on its own.. Is this possible?

Regards

I think this is something makehuman isn't really supposed to do, but it's feature one can think of in the feature. For the time being export as .obj, open it in blender (or whatever modelling software you got there). Select vertex groups havign names *tongue* and *teeth* and delete those. It's easier than you think and it's not really a lot of work.

I was able to import the obj in blender (2.5) and was able to delete the teeth and tongue vertex groups.
But i couldn't select vertex groups if i import .mhx. Am trying to keep the rigging intact.. How can i do it? Is it even possible?

Edit:
Actually.. By using Linked Select and face loops, i was able to remove the teeth and tongue completely, and still maintain the texture, rigging and the animation (That i imported from a .bvh). Just by removing teeth and tongue, poly count went down Considerably without ay visible impact. :-)

Thanks
