Pose export from Blender is up in the air

Postby Gaberlunzy » Tue Feb 23, 2016 9:56 pm

Hello! Newbie here. Big thanks to the creators for MakeHuman! I am using the nightly build and the pose functionality. I am making my own poses in Blender and exporting them as bvh files. For the most part it is working great, except that back in MH the poses are way above the floor grid. It is possible to fix it by manually editing the bvh file to set the offset to 0,0,0 in 2 places. Is there a better way to do this? Perhaps I am missing a step in Blender. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there is a bug in the Blender exporter that causes does this. Until they fix it, we'll have to fix the bvh files by hand.

See here for more details: http://bugtracker.makehumancommunity.org/issues/758
Weighing in on the Blender bug tracker might make them consider the patch we have submitted.

Thank you! I used the export_bvh.py that was posted on the bug report, and that fixed the issue. I am trying to get an account on the blender dev site to post a comment there. I hope they are not blocking spamgourmet emails. The related ticket was a tutorial request for creating MH poses. I can create a video for that.

As far as I can tell, the fix will not be in 2.77. Perhaps it would be a more substantial argument if you state that the patch was provided by the MakeHuman-Team and is necessary for MakeHuman. I don't know how famous Duststorm is in the Blender Community, but I guess MakeHuman is quite well-known.
