Face UV and Topology

Postby mdmoberly » Thu Jun 26, 2014 8:56 pm

Hello, all!! new to MH and had a few questions, which, I'm sure has been asked here.. ..I just cannot find any posts.

So basically, I would like to be able to either import a head mesh to MH before exporting to Blender, or edit the mesh inside blender with the new head mesh.
However, I would like to use the UV from MH, but with the new unwrapped face..

not sure if I am wording it correctly, but I would basically like to be able to use something like Faceworks or FaceGen in combination with blender and makehuman. Is this possible? and if so, is there a tut already floating around that I was unable to retrieve via Google..?

Any insight would be wonderful!
Thanks!

I decided to search the forums for "FaceGen" and turned over a few stones I didn't see before. I found this: http://forum.makehuman.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8752&p=19002&hilit=facegen#p19961
This is the only way of doing what I mentioned..? Correct me if I am wrong! As before, any information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Matthew

You can do it in blender. Export both meshes (from MH and from facegen) to Blender, and use the MakeClothes plugin in Blender.
MakeClothes has tools for fitting a new mesh (eg a head) to the basemesh, and transferring seams and UV maps.
You could use those.
