background images

I am planning to model a human face with the use of background images. i have a left and front view, and have managed to get the front view image to appear as it should behind the model. but when i switch to left view and apply the left image, nothing seemed to be visible, till i angle the view, then i can see the left image is also behind the model when it should be to the left side. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Yes, I believe we introduced a bug there.
