Changing position of arms in blender

Postby karlgoran82 » Sun Aug 04, 2013 6:45 pm

Hi, i want to change the position of the arms and then import the model as an obj file into blender, but i can't figure out how to make the arms not stick out in that "fly" pose or whatever they have as a default.

It's not possible in MH.
You will need to export it to blender, preferably with MHX format, and pose it in blender.

Could someone possibly do a video on posing MH in Blender? I know some of you find it easy, but I am having trouble with it. I have MH 1.0 Alpha 7 and Blender 2.68.

One main issue I am having is pinching in the arms when bringing them down from the "T" pose, and any rotation/movement of the arms. An example, I wanted to recreate the pose seen here:

http://www.makehuman.org/content/hindu_skin.html

and here:

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe you cannot get that result without applying corrections on the mesh.
I think MH A7 allows to export corrective shapekeys with the mesh to blender, but I've never used them so I don't know the details. You will probably find some information about it in the docs.

The A8 mesh will solve many of the shoulder deformation issues because the new basemesh is in A pose instead of T pose.

Excellent! When do you see A8 being released?

The features you are asking for are already available, although some other things (for example skin texture) might not work 100% right now.

Take a look here:
