Very nice. Did you notice that the alpha spot in the bottom right corner of the amber-texture isn't alpha but black? No big deal. Takes fifteen seconds to fix that in gimp. But maybe you could fix that anyways.
Oh, and there's an issue with the specmap as well. You mentioned that white means alpha, but in this texture we have both: the sclera is alpha=0, the pupil is white. I should mention that i use Cycles. Maybe in BI it works different.
Here's my edited version. Use it as mixfactor between diffuse and glossy.
And here i have the missing thumbs for you. Note that i renamed them a bit. In your "user/share/.../eyes/materials"-folder these have to match the corresponding mhmat-file-names of course. And the fileformat is .thumb, so delete the ending ".png".
