Feature request: create models based on names

Postby Orisphera » Sat Apr 13, 2024 9:17 am

I remember seeing a video stating that there's a correlation between someone's name and looks. So, I'd like there to be a way to generate MH models based on the name. There should be some noise added to them so that people with the same name don't look all the same. It should use machine learning so that it can interpret names that aren't in its training set.

Using AI in MakeHuman will ruin the program. All machine learning software is ran by big tech and their cloud entities who have no interest in the individual and all interest in stealing/scraping/monetizing the individual's efforts.

I find that naming a model is the hardest part of generating it. Thus, perhaps one could use this crapware outside MakeHuman by taking a sample image of said model, then turning it loose in the crapware to see what name it burps up.

AI is a parrot. There is no such thing as AI in the actual sense of the meaning of the label. AI takes data input, chews on it based on what it has scraped, most times without permission or morals, and pukes up what it thinks is a viable result. The entire concept is total hype at this stage in its evolution.

AI is just another way to make dumb, lazy people. Social media has already ruined society. AI will finish the job and totally destroy it. Folks will not be able to think straight, let alone interact with eachother in meaningful ways. All the while, big tech will continue to get richer. The rest of us will get poorer.

I for one hope AI and any other related crapware funded by these criminal elite level scumbags never makes it into MakeHuman, since this stuff has already polluted the forum to the point where a new forum must be built, one that can detect and remove said scum.

End of rant.

I know this is getting off-topic, but I don't know what to do. There are lots of machine learning software, so there's likely some that you missed. Possible examples are:

  • BotMan
  • Botonic
  • Botpress
  • Bottender
  • Claudia Bot Builder
  • DeepPavlov
  • Golem
  • OpenDialog
  • Openjourney
  • Rasa
  • Stable Diffusion
  • Tock

Also, I probably will make my own in some distant future. Unlike probably all of these, it'll use SNN (a different language for ML)

If you used a program to check all such software, I'd like to see that program

I have zero interest in AI. My life is already busy enough without entertaining the very scum I cannot abide. I am old fashioned. I remember a world without all the mobile/antisocial/AI money grubbing BS and it was a better place... AI will take all this to the next level on its way to totally enshitifying the world. I am not looking forward to that.

Please forgive the grumblings of an old ranger. Let's get back on your original topic, to name a model.

The following general influences for naming a person boil down to these:

1. Race - pure blood or mixed

2. Culture - traditional or modern

3. Wealth - rich or poor

4. Location - nation, origin either metro or rural

5. History - war or peace

6. Gender - sex and identity

7. Affinity - things we like or dislike

8. Appearance at birth

In the real world, a baby can have a given name before or after birth. The same can be said for a model, either before or after creation.

In my human making sessions, a new model is randomly based and then adjusted for the desired virtual person, and that will determine the name of the finished model. Once I am aware of the traits comprising said model, I consult name lists to get one which fits. In some cases, I will simply make up a name based on how I see the model. There are no hard and fast rules.

Of note is the fact that AI cannot fathom context from random quanta. This is why it has such a high failure rate which often results in digital hallucinations within the output.

So, think about the person you want to create, annd then name the model appropriately based on your own knowledge and research.

Do the work.

It pays off big.
