Postby Blacksage » Sat Jan 22, 2011 12:10 am

I downloaded the nightly build yesterday, after extraction I went to run the .exe
Everything seemed normal when my progress bar reached about 75% or so then it stalled and my console printed the following errors.

Yup, as I said here http://code.google.com/p/makehuman/issu ... l?id=84#c1 the nightly was probably taken while we were committing changes. The version in svn works.
The nightly builds are never guaranteed to work, as they are build automatically. So they are a snapshot of the code at a certain moment. It looks like in the nightly you have, gui3d.py is not in sync with the other files.

http://code.google.com/p/makehuman/source/checkout, an svn client (http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/) and gcc/mingw or visual C++ express (http://www.microsoft.com/express/Downlo ... Visual-CPP) to build the exe. If you're not a developer, I would advise to wait for the next nightly :).

I have not ran a copy of visual C++ in years, awesome it feels like programming 3 all over again! :D it looks like I'm gonna have to dust off my programmer hat. I'll take your advice and wait for the nightly for now but I imagine that I'll be downloading all that sometime soon. thanks again for the quick response.

I have been having the same problem, with the same nightly builds and all of the following. I am running Win7(32bit) and download the nightly build daily. Ever since the 20th I have not been able to launch the exe. I get the splash screen, it loads then disappears.

There is the additional problem that the nightlies have been down for two days since I have been rebuilding the build farm a bit. You are thus probably still downloading the version from the 20th.

New versions should appear during the night.

I downloaded the nightly build listed on Jan 24th and it crashes my Computer every time I try to run it. Now I had the previous nightly build from about a week ago maybe two and it worked fine and the regular version 5.1 works well. Just a huge problem with the latest release. I there a way to get a list of the releases by date so I can download again the previous one?

Seems you downloaded the one from the 20th of January, there is no 24th build yet.
