MBPF custom meshes?

MBPF custom meshes?

Postby kunin » Mon Mar 11, 2024 6:15 am

In Makehuman it's possible to use custom character meshes. There even were some by default, like a lower poly mesh. And it's possible to create custom meshes oneself in Blender to use them in Makehuman. Is this possible in the MBPF Blender plugin as well 192.168.0.1 ?

Yes, the file formats are the same in MakeHuman and MPFB.

What you are talking about is called "topology" or "proxy". These are created using the MakeClothes program. The resulting files can be used in MPFB, although it's a bit cumbersome to install them at the moment.

I am currently in the process of reimplementing MakeClothes as a bundled sub-set of MPFB. I hope to be able to make the toolset a bit smoother while at it. If you want to test and/or follow the process, see https://github.com/makehumancommunity/mpfb2/issues/175
