I have no idea why the character is so dark.

Great work! :D
The character being dark is a more general bug with the pure python version. It happens the moment you make an alteration to the basemesh or add clothes.

I'm happy to say that glynnc fixed the issue with the mesh being dark.

Alas, clothes, hair and proxies are still dark. It looks like a problem with normals.

Moreover, jpg and tiff textures don't work.

MakeHuman certainly is destinated to become a great and professional characters software.
