Male asymmetrical head - r1421 - POV-Ray export

Postby HaakonME » Tue Sep 28, 2010 4:37 am

I have just tried the new asymmetry controls in revision 1421 - I like these! Thank you! :D

Each slider controls asymmetry of one part of the body - move the slider left and the left side is affected, move the slider right and the right side is affected - easy!

The current minimalism of most sliders in MakeHuman, where the numerical value is not shown with the slider but rather in the status bar is not the best way for me. Changing the age accurately is just guesswork, because the status bar updates to slowly.

May I suggest that a on/off "show numbers button" should be available - then artists can choose what they like. The bottom of the range should be shown to the left of the slider and the top of the range should be shown to the right of the slider.

Could I hope for a smile on my characters too. :D

Cheers,
Haakon

Yeah, mh GUI is constantly under revision in order to find the best usability...
Have the numerical input is very requested indeed, but there are first some other important tasks to do, and we have not enough resources at the moment :-(
Btw, it's in the developers' todo list :-)

Here is the same character in extreme close-up, where I've added a new normal pattern and finish to the standard texture. I'm not familiar with using uv mapped textures, so if anyone can tell me how I can create a normal map where different parts of the skin have different normals, for instance the eyeballs should be smooth. The mesh in this image has some problems, but on my screen I'm quite happy with this male's skin - except for the eyeballs and the lips.
