MakeHuman - OpenSimulator

Postby Déesse » Tue Feb 24, 2015 2:54 pm

My new video was made to show other educators like me (german art teacher) that it is possible to create wonderful locations (film sets) for videos using free resources and content. Thank you MakeHuman! And enjoy! 50% of the avatars are created with MakeHuman.

Great work! :D

Could you tell us which version (or versions?) of MH you used?

Also what steps and software (Blender?) were used to get the avatars into OpenSim without deformation?

Thanks!

Thank you!

A detailed documentation explaining the used materials will follow. Here a simple list:

1. OpenSimulator Software (An updated version of MakeHuman-Island will follow too: http://forum.makehuman.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11053)

2. Some Default-SL-Avatars (you see it when you have a look at the clothing) and many MakeHuman-Avatars using any version published during the last months, A7, 1.0.2, 1.1 -> different nightlybuilds, you see it also comparing the clothing: the early 1.1 versions had no shoes  The upload to OpenSim works with these tutorials: http://forum.makehuman.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=10028 and http://forum.makehuman.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11517

3. With blender I rotated the avatar and edited the clothing, for example shortened the dresses ;)

4. Some of the scenes can be downloaded as oar-files, the links will be part of my documentation.

5. Screencapture with fraps.

6. The effects were created inworld, e.g. Video-on-a-prim with the Cool-Viewer, using a video of Chris Rea's "Last Open Road"-Tour in 2014 (song: "Let's Dance" :) ), located in my dropbox. No post-production in the videosoftware (MagixVideoDeluxe) beside the cuts.

Great Work :)

Im sure you gonna get great responses from your students as well :)

Teaching Digital Art geez those youngsters are lucky to have such a Art teacher that goes beyond traditional Artistry :D

All of those are MH Results ?

The result of the 4th/5th section part (Dancer with very long physic Hair, Dancer with physic dress) was very impressive.

That Motion Capture result looks really nice with the Mesh the movements are very fluid, the Air jump was very exciting.

Motion Captured Dancing is a great Benchmark if you can follow it fast enough ;)

Are those Motion Capture Files available from Lacchi Macchi ?

Hey, we won prizes!

The most successful award was in 2010, third place in the biggest video competition for our students in Germany, the videos are presented in Berlin, Sony-Center. Here the link to the blog, the "diary": http://bellatopia-on.blogspot.de/

More videos on our youtubechannel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdx2EuaFtRCVPGcqUt2XUwg

The video "Schokolade - nein danke!" (Chocolate - no thanks) from 2014 won prizes on the country-level and was nominated for Berlin.

It's a story about a lonesome child who discovers the chocolate-paradise, and after laughing at the chocolate-sculptures finally becomes a chocolate himself! (You may find out, that it is also a story about seduction...) The idea was born, because we could not get the MakeHuman-Avatar to work, to animate him, and finally we just used the meshes.

Unfortunately you can't download the dances. You can only get them as freebies "inworld" (Grid Metropolis, Aqua Dark).
