Test Animations and render screens

Postby Blacksage » Sat Jan 22, 2011 1:24 am

I just wanted to share with the MH community this is a character I originally intended for a TES IV Oblivion mod but I'm currently undecided as to how I'm going to use her. Her name is Telani Kelsani and she's a problem lol. There are 2 versions of Telani, version 1 was exported before blender's API started playing nice with makehuman's mhx exporter. Version 2 was exported last week after I realized her features were kinda masculine. Some of my render screens are either of version 1 or 2, the animations are all version 2

Animations are hand made please excuse the robotic walk cycle I just finished a tutorial and that was my result
The leg work was done in FK since i was getting strange thigh rotation in IK

The second walk cycle was really good. Did you work it up yourself, or start from a motion capture?

The run cycle was OK, but had that "speeded-up film" feel to it, like Benny Hill used to do.

I also like your costume designs. Mine all turn out looking like burlap bags with a head and limbs sticking out.

second walk cycle was hand made I used breakdown poses to add more realism. I felt that the run cycle needed tobe fast since the character is very agile, once I get better grasp of the technique I plan on posting a test fight reel. Clothing is hard at first but you have to try to disassemble the article you want to model so you know what it's supposed to look like. I abuse the shrink wrap modifier what works for me is I will model it into a general shape. shrink wrap, push and pull verts etc. shrink wrap early and dont get heavy handed with adding edge loops you got to find the sweet spot for each piece of clothing.Blender cookie has a good clothing tut it's only for a sweater but the shirts are much more difficult than pants imo. I took a free elective in college called flat pattern design where we essentially designed clothing it's funny how an easy A can help later in life lol.
oh yeah, keep pushing Rome wasnt built in a day.
