Neanderthal Girl Child

Postby brkurt » Thu Mar 21, 2013 2:42 pm

Here is a Neanderthal girl child modelled using the Base Mesh from Alpha 5.1.
I chose that mesh, because the facial structures are more European.
I have not deleted any vertices, so it should work in MakeTarget.
I'm inclined to think that I will use the Alpha 8 Mesh, because of major changes to facial geometry. For instance, eyelids are a problem, because Neanderthal eyes were significantly larger than our own.

This looks almost modern, the way a BBC special would create her. The real difference shows up in profile:

You can try out the model yourself:

I will add a version more like Danny Vendramini's, with full hair.
And here it is. The only difference is that DV suggests that Neanderthal had noses like chimps, but as I live in Western Canada, with a climate much like Ice Age Europe, I go with the big-noses-for-arctic-climates approach. Also, there is a possibility that Neanderthals were better groomed than we usually give them credit for, consonant with grooming practices among the great apes.

But wait! There's more! :D Here is a hominid template I made, that covers creatures from Australopithecus to Neanderthal.

It's a very small and useful mode. Here's the file:
