I chose that mesh, because the facial structures are more European.
I have not deleted any vertices, so it should work in MakeTarget.
I'm inclined to think that I will use the Alpha 8 Mesh, because of major changes to facial geometry. For instance, eyelids are a problem, because Neanderthal eyes were significantly larger than our own.

And here it is. The only difference is that DV suggests that Neanderthal had noses like chimps, but as I live in Western Canada, with a climate much like Ice Age Europe, I go with the big-noses-for-arctic-climates approach. Also, there is a possibility that Neanderthals were better groomed than we usually give them credit for, consonant with grooming practices among the great apes.
