I used the MHX mocap tool.
Could not figure out how to make the Plant key work and am still investingating a way to transition from FK to IK.

The sad fact is that the plant key probably does not work to well. It might be just as good to edit the f-curves directly. Not so sure about FK->IK neither. There is a button for that somewhere, but it was quite a while since I tested it.
