Originally I aimed at a grainy black-and-white image akin to what get posted on the doom/death metal forums on facebook, see for example https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set ... 161&type=3 (and yeah, I'm 40, so what... I can listen to pubertal music if I want to ), but I never managed to get the skin look right that way. So here's the best attempt at something dark and dramatic.
This is a vanilla makehuman character rendered in cycles, no post-processing. The atmospheric effects were made using blender's smoke simulation (which doesn't work on GPU, so had to render the image overnight).
