Cloth texture wrong in Unity 3D

Postby SanStar » Sat May 19, 2012 8:25 pm

Hey there
I'm probably in the wrong forum, but I have a problem with my makehuman character and the import into Unity 3D.
First i created a character with the nightly build version of makehuman. Then imported it into blender (with the sweater & the jeans) and textured the cloths. But when import the fbx file into Unity 3D, the texture of the cloths looks very different. Does anyone know what I probably did wrong?

Thanks for your reply!

Finally I found a solution for my problem!
For everyone else who has the same problem, here is my solution:
Select the sweater
Go to object data ---> UV maps
Choose mask
Retexture the object

Select the jeans
Go to object data ---> UV maps
Choose texture
Retexture the object

I have no idea why this works, but I'm glad I found a solution ;)

Do this in unity or makehuman. I found that the only way I could get textures with alpha to show in unity was to use the Decal shader. But that was a LONG LONG time ago. Before uv maps were added to the proxy exported from Makehuman. I had to uv unwrap the low poly proxy in blender. Then paint a bikini onto a layer that was all alpha in Gimu using the uv unwrapping image as a guide. Deselect the original uv unwrap image then export just the bikini as a png with tranparency.

I fooled around with different shaders in unity until hit upon decal. That put the bikini on the figure correctly.
