Blender Internal/render engine?

Postby EricaVilche » Wed May 28, 2014 12:11 am

Hello, i'm new here (new in all) and reading the Makeclothes: Making a simple dress and using HumanMaker 1.0.0 and Blender 2.70 (I downloaded 2.69) I can't get through the dress, I name it as the tutorial says but nothing...reading below it says that Render engine must be on Blender Internal, I can't find out that, lookes over and over every tutorial and nothing. Hope you guys can help...And apologyze if it's a basic thing, i just get started. Salut.

I can't quite tell from what you write where you are getting stuck. MakeClothes is for cretaing a NEW dress. Let's say you name it MyDress. When you click the button to make it, if all went right, you will have a new file in C:\Users\rbaer\Documents\makehuman\v1\data\clothes\MyDress ( on windows or the equivalent for your OS) mydress.mhmat and mydress.mhclo. More importantly, if you start MakeHuman and go to Geometries>Clothes you should see MyDress as a clothes asset (.thumb picture will be a ? until you make one).

Did any or all of these steps fail? More information will let us help you better. Indeed with the latest versions of MH and MH tools you will be easily able to use your dress with cycles as well. It's jsut during creation of the material that you need to create the material with Blender Internal. There's a lot of flexibility for improving the material later so keep it simple to start.

MakeClothes allows you to import clothes that you modeled yourself into MakeHuman. It does not magically create a piece of 3D clothing at your request.
If this is your intention, then you should have a look at the Blender sewing plugin or Marvelous Designer, perhaps Project Valentina.

Once you have created your clothes and have them in Blender, you can bring them back in MakeHuman using the MakeClothes script, so that you can reuse the clothes with any human you create.
