MakeHuman / Rigify only works partially

Postby Meshed Potato » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:50 pm

Hello people of Blender,

I have a problem concerning my imported .MHX-file in Blender. Although some parts do seem to be rigged automatically, most of the bones seem unconnected to the model. I tried to describe my steps after creating the model in MakeHuman. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

1.png

Print Screen 1: Imported MakeHuman file (.mhx) with the following boxes ticked in at the Blender User Preferences as suggested:

Rigging: Rigify
Import-Export: Import: Make Human (.mhx)

2.png

Print Screen 2: When I enter Pose mode, the wireframe/skeleton moves fine, but the model doesn't follow most of the skeleton. Only some parts seem to work. Facial expressions do work.

Print Screen 3: As you can see, SOME parts do work. Somehow parts like the head, arms, fingers and legs don't work.

So, my question is if any of you guys see the problem. Is this a common problem or am I just making noobish mistakes? Tips/advice would be appreciated very much.

Greetings,
Daniel from the Netherlands

You cannot import a rigify-ready mhx file from MH alpha 7 into current Blender. The reason is that some bone names in the rigify plugin have changed since MH alpha 7 was released, to make it fully compatible with Xonotic, I believe. Use the MH nightly builds or the soon-to-be-released MH alpha 8 instead. Perhaps it is also possible to import into Blender 2.65, save the blend file, and open in newer Blender versions.

Can you make the MHX importer show a warning message about this kind of thing?

Thank you very much for the info. I am going to try this asap.
