I was just wondering if there was a Python script I can add to my Addons list to be able to import (.mhm) files to my current project.

A MHM file is just a list of targets and weights. All the actual transformation of the human mesh is done in MH. You'd basically need to start MH from your addon script to get the same functionality.

I assume you mean a python script to be used in blender?
.MHM files are save files specific to MakeHuman. They do not contain mesh data. Instead, MH exports the mesh data for use in a 3D editor when you use the export feature.

The MHX format is very well suited for exporting your model to Blender. For other 3D editors there are other formats such as Collada DAE, FBX or OBJ.
