Strange Male Kneebend

Postby 2ndclemens » Fri Jan 25, 2013 3:48 pm

Hi,
While having successfuly importet and animated the 100% female Model into blender, the 100% male model has very odd looking legs and butt when sitting. (see attached screenshot)
Before I start weight painting in blender I wanted to ask if this is a known problem, or if I'm doing something wrong. I've seen youtube videos of old makehuman versions, where the knees seem to bend much nicer.
Can a version with a better weighting for the male model still be downloaded?
Thanks for any help and thanks for making Makehuman.
Cheers, Clemens

The problem is gone in the svn version. I think I have seen something similar at some time. In that case the problem had to do with a stretchy bone on bone layer 31. The constraints for the DfmKneeBack_L/R bones should have no volume variation.

Hi Thomas,
thanks a lot for pointing me to the deforming bones! I spent the last hours starting to understand how these work and already managed to tweak them for the better.

I have the svn version installed on my vista computer now. It was not as hard as I had feared thanks to the bundled installers and instruction.
Export is broken in the most current version, but I downgraded to a version from two weeks ago and everything works fine now.
