Is this a makehuman importer or a daz3d importer. Everyihing on that page says Daz.

MHX2 is mentioned in a paragraph on the first post in the page:

...The same changes have also been implemented on two of my other add-ons:

Those add-ons are not really supported anymore, but at least the basic features now work under Blender 2.80.


Thomas mainly works with Daz these days, so the blog mainly concerns Daz. He is still patching MHX2 occasionally.

Hi All,

in trying to install into Blender 2.8 Beta, the import option does not appear under File > Import.

I am able to install the addon through preferences, and get no errors, but even though it's checked off under addons, the option to import does not appear under file > import

Did something change in the Beta release that broke this again?

is there something I can edit in the .py files that would get this working?

I'm currently using the latest version of the MHX2 addon from the community (as of 08Dec2018).

I appreciate any assistance.

For the moment the community version of mhx2 is theoretically an older mhx2 KNOWN to work with Blender 2.79. MHX2 is a separate project and its author has worked on/(is working on) a Blender 2.80 version. This updated version is not necessarily backward compatible with Blender 2.79.

The latest version of Thomas' efforts is here: https://bitbucket.org/Diffeomorphic/mhx ... downloads/ , and as of this post is dated 2018-11-24. Blender of course is evolving so I don.'t know whether this latest version works with the latest Blender iteration. Such is beta.

Yup: For blender 2.79 or older, your best shot is to download the MHX2 provided by us. For 2.80 and later, you'll have to use a zip from bitbucket.

With the latest commit from tonight MHX2 seems to be working quite well with B2.8.

I can enable the addon, but there's no import option for mhx2.

The addon now is in the N-Menu. You get a Tab on the top right labeled MHX2 Runtime and in a scene with no humans it has an import button only. The registration for import under files is missing here as well, but the tab works.
