First, sorry for my English, I am not an English speaker!
I would like to show how I use makehuman (1.1.1) in 2D, to create comics.
After doing some testing, I never use Blender again, which for me is too complex. I use in makehuman the modeling, the assets (clothes, materials, poses, expressions), I use the utility "Editor of Materials" to possibly change the color, then once the character suits me, I make a copy screen.
Then, with Photoshop I remove the solid background, and I get a clipped character, which I can then include in an image of my comic.
For the backgrounds of my comics, I use either personal photos or free and royalty-free images that I download.
Today I'm putting online a comic strip from the soap opera I'm currently working on, which is called Line and Amande.
Details:
The language I use in this comic is Europanto: it is a language invented by Diego Marani, ex-translator at the European Union, which mixes the main languages of Europe, first to be understood by readers from different European countries, but especially for the entertaining effect that results.
My comics are gay-friendly and feminist, so if this sensitivity is foreign to you, no need to insist!
My heroines, Line and Amande: Line is an inspector of the repression of coercion (!), Amande is a modern witch (besides her broom is a vacuum cleaner). They form a couple and walk around everywhere to play the vigilantes.
In the episode that I am offering you, they take a trip to the past, to the Middle Ages; small exception to the Europanto rule: the inquisitor in purple speaks old French! He says: "The woman who fails must lose a limb each time, and the third time must be killed". The fault is of course a homosexual act.
I take advantage of this publication to underline to what point makehuman is a software that performs well by itself; there are more and more active clothing and hairstyles, and we can very well manage with it. What is missing the most are the poses, because they are almost infinite, and in the same way that there is an Expression Mixer utility, it would be great to be able to create them directly in makehuman, without having to go through Blender .
I would like to take this opportunity to particularly thank Elvaerwyn and Punkduck, who have always responded with great availability and kindness to all the asset requests that I have been able to send them.
